The worldwide increase in demand for oil and refined oil products is leading to more offshore drilling, transport, and storage. However, oil spills pose a significant risk, particularly in the petrochemical industry, where incidents can occur in an instant during the storage, transfer, or processing of oil-related products.
Challenging environments such as ports or offshore locations require a rapid, effective oil spill response. Traditional oil-skimming solutions often struggle in rough water, deploy slowly, and have limited recovery capacity, leaving industries vulnerable to prolonged environmental and financial damage.
Hytrans FORU oil skimmers, such as the FORU 70 and FORU 340, are designed to deliver top-tier oil spill response. Using the HydroSub hydraulically driven submersible pumps, the skimmers can be deployed within minutes. They are easy to operate and have no external moving parts. The buoyant shape helps the FORU stay stable in waves, even in tough water conditions. Their exceptional performance enables them to clean up spills of any size, from minor incidents to large-scale disasters, ensuring rapid containment and reducing the spill’s impact on the environment and surrounding areas.
The HydroSub not only drives FORU skimmers but also drives the Hytrans’ submersible pumps used for firefighting or flood control, offering a versatile system that delivers superior performance for various applications. Clients can power the skimmers with either a HydroSub system or a separate power pack, depending on operational needs.
