The FORU-70 is the compact version of the FORU-340, specially designed for sensitive shallow parts, like the Wadden Sea in the Netherlands (UNESCO World Heritage) or for use in rivers, lakes, harbours and near-shore environments.
With a weight of only 75 kg it is light enough to be carried by two perons. Its shape makes it free-floating, becoming one with the waves and therefore ready to function under rough circumstances. The toxic liquid will be pumped into a storage facility such as a container, barge or bladder.
The power source of the FORU-70 is the HPU-18 hydraulic power unit or the HydroSub 60. The HPU-18 is a versatile hydraulic power pack capable of delivering high performances in all kind of oil spill situations. The control panel ensures that the skimmer operates fail-safe and very efficiently. A remote control is available as an option.
It is thoroughly tested in several oil types by the Norwegian Coastal Administration test center in Horten, approved by DNV GL. Working at maximum speed the FORU-70 takes in up to 70 m3 per hour of the oil/water mixture at 5 bar max.
