France strengthens its emergency response capabilities with Hytrans systems

Pas-de-Calais, France – In a major upgrade of regional emergency response capabilities, the Fire and Rescue Services of Pas-de-Calais (SDIS 62), France, have integrated high-capacity mobile water transport systems into their operations. These include four advanced Hytrans systems, designed for rapid deployment during floods and large-scale industrial fires.

This development highlights France’s proactive approach to disaster prevention and mitigation. The systems were recently unveiled in Boulogne-sur-Mer, attracting national attention from both public safety officials and local government.

On the same day, a Hytrans HS250 unit deployed by SDIS 80 (Somme) played a crucial role in extinguishing a significant building fire, once again demonstrating the reliability and performance of our mobile water management technology under real-life emergency conditions.

“With our advanced systems, relief organisations gain the speed and reach needed in situations where every second counts. We’re proud to support safety regions like Pas-de-Calais in protecting people, nature, and infrastructure.”

— Frank Bosveld, CEO

As the world’s leading company in mobile water transport systems, Hytrans continues to collaborate with emergency services in over 50 countries. The deployment in northern France underscores the vital role of scalable, reliable systems in mitigating complex disasters, ranging from severe flooding to industrial fires. Systems like the HS250 offer vital support in safeguarding communities and infrastructure.

“These pumps will be stored in the rescue centres of Étaples, Ardres, Aire-sur-la-Lys and Lens, and firefighters will be trained in their use. They can also be used to “fight industrial fires with the ability to fetch water from rivers or canals to avoid taking drinking water”

— Stéphane Contal, director of SDIS 62

By integrating advanced equipment into regional disaster response strategies, safety authorities can act more quickly and decisively — helping to minimise damage and save lives when every second counts.
